2 - London: London continued

Happy Anniversary Joey - 8 (or maybe it's 9) years today!

Joey and I set off into the city to check out the shops around Regent and Oxford Streets, while Mandy, Peter and Narelle hit the British Museum.  We walked through the West End theatre district - its amazing what shows are on offer here - Priscilla, Lion King, Thriller, Billy Elliott, Wicked, Shrek, Phantom, Jersey Boys, Mumma Mia, Les Miserables etc etc - so much to choose from!

From there we managed to find our way to Soho - lots of quirky little shops tucked into the alleyways.  Found a great street with a tiny food market which had great flowers,  fruit & veg.  I know it's been nearly twenty years since I was in London, but the quality of the food available here has realy improved - there is fantastic fresh stuff available in the supermarkets and the prices are not bad compared to home.  There is also a lot of local produce which is labelled really well - ie the variety and where it was grown - Mitch you would approve - low food miles and all that!

Found a little pub to have some late lunch - yes with a pint for Joe and a cider for me, then walked back home (to work off the cider).  Had a nice dinner at a local pub.
